Gut Feeling was born from a love of food, travel, health and community. Five years of international gallivanting found me in the small town of San Marcos at the base of volcanic Lake Atitlan, Guatemala. It was here the penny dropped. My passion for real food met my intrinsic wonder of microbiology when I discovered the ancient art of fermentation. Jarred and Michelle from "Love Probiotics” became instant mentors of mine, the generosity with which they shared their knowledge was matched by my eagerness to learn.
Back in Adelaide, with the help of my wonderful mum, I was able to turn a dream into the building blocks of reality. We started out creating small batches of fermented vegetables, experimenting with flavour combinations and having a bit of fun. I decided early on that this business was always going to be about a lifestyle; creating something truly honest, sustainable and wholesome.
Gut Feeling has certainly evolved since our humble beginnings in 2015. Everything started to fall into place when we made the decision to build a commercial kitchen space on the farm of "Starlight Springs" - a small family farm in Myponga specialising in beautiful organically grown heirloom vegetable varieties. It’s an amazing feeling to look out the window at a row of cabbages knowing that they will eventually be the basis of one of our creations. Farm to jar, just the way we like it.
I would like to say a special thank you to the amazing people that surround Gut Feeling and have helped it to grow. My very supportive Mum, Dad and Sister, my beautiful partner Lauren and great friend Justin who have all made this possible. Love you all!!
